Kelvin's Daily

I mentioned briefly how I believe there is a bit of fate in this Small Ford malarkey. I've experienced it several times and connections I made through my car "dealing" have and continue to come back to me over the years.

My GT V6 Capri (Silver Bullitt) is a case in point. After purchasing it back in 2002, not long afterward I received a phone call from the widow of the previous owner. As it turned out the previous owner had passed away tragically in a car accident about 6 months or so after I purchased the car.

Kelvin had 3 Capris when I first went to look at the car which I would eventually buy. His good one, (the one I bought), the "daily" and the "project". I would own all three through this "fate" I talk about. I guess its not the correct term to use but its just a term that I use to describe the journey these cars take. We are just custodians, really. They move on to successive owner sometimes briefly, sometimes for long periods as we can't (easily) take them with us on to the next life's interchange.....if you believe that sort of thing.

This car was Kelvin's daily driver, a beat up Capri Deluxe that was a little bit patched up with dodgy wiring and battle scars. The way I remembered Capris back in the early 90s when I first developed a love for them. This car very much reminded me of my first Capri back in Geelong in 1993.

After the car was dropped off at my house, I had no real plans for it other than to move it on. I saw this as my role, simply to facilitate new owners for all the assets that Kelvin left behind. Along with the mountains of spare parts, and "the project" which will be discussed later.

I wont say too much about this car other than the fact to it was sold fairly quickly on Ebay to a guy locally (Melbourne). He had plans to turn it into a V8 street car. Suffice to say, I heard nothing more of the car.

If you know anything of it, please share. I'd like these stories to be ongoing stories, not just my boring ramblings of times past.

Regards Glenn
